HIGHLIGHTS
THIS SEASON INCLUDE:
Kult Theatre
The first performance by Kult
Theatre went down in the annals of King's Lyn Arts Centre's history
in September. From the opening of 'Rhymes or Reasons?' to the
conclusion of 'Up a Beanstalk without any Porridge!' the performance
integrating film, animation and live action caused a sensation.
Each
member of the thirty strong cast gave a riveting performance,
as they weaved a web of intrigue about the private lives of fairytale
and nursery rhyme characters. In 'Rhymes or Reasons?' the mastermind
of Humpty Dumpty's murder was unmasked as the evil Snow White
who had trained the seven dwarfs into assassins. 'Up a Beanstalk
without any Porridge' exposed the 'real' reason why the Giant
was killed; the Fairytale King wanted the Giant dead because he
wanted the Golden Eggs. Jack's fortune in gaining the Harp and
Goose faded to blackness when he found out that the giant was
in fact his real father!
Kult
Theatre are now planning their next performance which will bring
a new challenge to performing as audiences participation will
be a key ingredient in 'Theatre Sports'.
Kult
Theatre which meets at the Arts Centre on Monday nights is currently
at capacity, however if you would like to join the waiting list
please contact Paul Harrison, Education and Outreach Officer,

Partnership
work with King's Lynn Arts Centre
We have recently started a yearlong working partnership with Hockwold
Primary School. Over the year we will be working with the pupils
on a number of projects including Gallery Guides - where some
of the children will work as guides for a public exhibition. The
work will involve artists working in the school as well as the
school visiting the Galleries for special activities. This work
is tied into the schools plans to develop the pupils Speaking
and Listening skills in a creative and exciting way.
The
project started with the school visiting the galleries in September
for an activity day where the children participated in workshops
based on the current exhibitions - Kurt Jackson's 'Porth' and
Expressions of Experience - Hockney, Hodkin and Hoyland. The children
and staff enjoyed the activity day and are now currently involved
with the ongoing work.
