Vision & Value

King’s Lynn Arts Centre Trust is an independent company limited by guarantee and a registered charity, in receipt of funding from the Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk and Norfolk County Council. Management of the venue has recently transferred from the Local Authority to the newly formed Trust.

King’s Lynn Arts Centre’s vision is to reinvigorate the historic heart of culture in King’s Lynn as a beacon for social regeneration to build a sustainable future. Our commitment is to create a lively and accessible arts hub that engages communities, raises aspirations, develops employability skills and embeds opportunities for social enterprise.

A visit to the King’s Lynn Arts Centre provides inspiration and opportunity!  We believe in utilising these outstanding heritage assets on the St George’s Guildhall site by the riverside - the Shakespeare Barn, the Fermoy Gallery, the Red Gallery and the Old Warehouse to add value to the tourist offer and to promote West Norfolk as a unique destination.  For the local community we will be responsive to their needs and will seek their views and support to take our organisation forward.

We have a strong Friends’ Scheme, many of whom are also our volunteers, whose loyalty is highly valued. You will always receive a warm welcome from our dedicated staff and volunteers!

The Arts Centre now has a pop-up café in a corner of the Shakespeare Barn gallery, a little oasis where you can socialise, drink coffee, experience art, peruse art magazines and books. There is also a lovely outside area to sit in amongst the medieval buttresses of St Georges Guildhall.  We are serving lovely coffee, hot chocolate, local juices and a selection of teas with scrumptious cakes and biscuits. Over the next few weeks we will start to offer Panini’s and sandwiches. We hope this will encourage people to come and see the exhibitions, stay a little longer and of course give us an income generator. We’ve been busy sourcing local high quality ingredients to make our pop-up café a truly memorable experience.

The Pop-Up Café will be open during exhibitions from Tuesdays toSaturdays, 11am-4pm in winter(until 31 march) and 10am-5pm in Summer.
